Its so famous that people give gifts of pepero boxes to their loved one on valentine so you can say its a valentine dessert bought to you early this year... in Japan its also called as pocky..
Do try this recipe is very simple and tasty I made it with dark chocolate and 4 types of nuts to delight you in all variants of pocky...
On November 11th, Pepero day is also celebrated in Korea as a valentine day and they exchange gifts with pepero boxes... and now you can make homemade pepero without any hassle and show some love....
Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cook time: 15-20 mins
Yield: 12-14
Ingredients:
3/4 cup All purpose flour
6 tbsp milk
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/8 tsp salt
2 tbsp walnuts
2 tbsp almond
2 tbsp pecan
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds (optional)
100 gram dark chocolate ( any chocolate of your choice)
Instructions:
Take flour, butter, salt, sugar and milk and combine well in food processor.
Knead and make a nice dough..
Refrigerate dough for 30 mins
Meanwhile melt the chocolate, I have used 70 percent dark and some chipits and added 3 tbsp milk to make a smooth chocolate sauce..
Crush the nuts and keep it ready..
Remove dough from the fridge and make a flat bread with 5 mm thick...
Cut in to thin pieces approx 0.5 cm each and place it on baking tray..
Bake at preheated oven at 350 F for 15 to 18 mins
Remove tray from oven and let it cool and then start coating chocolate topped with different nuts as per your choice..
Refrigerate it for 1 hour or freeze it for 30 mins and enjoy...
