This recipe is vegan so all vegan can enjoy this yummy taste of tofu anytime..


My husband is not a tofu fan and every time when I use to make he never ate tofu but when I tried this recipe he became a fan of tofu believe me... its just an achievement I can say...!


Well its very easy and with minimal ingredients which is readily available at home...


All you need to take care while buying tofu is that it should be firm or medium firm tofu...


And before making do ensure that you keep pressed tofu for about 15-20 mins before cooking!


So lets make some delicious tofu today...!


Preparation time: 30 mins

Cook time: 10 mins


Ingredients

  • 425 gram firm or medium firm pressed tofu

  • 2 tbsp corn starch

  • 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 1 tbsp hot sauce

  • 2 tbsp soya sauce

  • 2 tbsp wine vinegar

  • 5-6 cloves of garlic (crushed)

  • 1 onion (chopped)

  • 1 hot green chilli (chopped)

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds ( For garnish)


Instructions:

  1. Press the tofu and keep for 15-20 mins

  2. Cut into bite size pieces and coat and toss with cornstarch, 1tbsp oil, salt, pepper...

  3. Heat the pan to high flame and put oil and add tofu and do not mix for 1-2 mins till it gets settled in the pan and gently flip on the other side and cook for 1-2 mins till you see light golden in color.

  4. Switch the pan to medium flame and add oil, garlic and onion (you can use green stalks of anion too...) and fry for 1-2 mins then add hot sauce, soya sauce, vinegar, salt and green chilli and saute for 1 min..

  5. Then add tofu and combine well so that the mixture is well coated and its ready to be served..

  6. Serve hot or you can store in airtight box for 1-2 days... by preheating again...
